Thanks to Kaleido's ultra-smooth free-form turning technology, off-axis parabolic mirrors with working distances that exceeds the axis swing of the machining system can be manufactured without compromising the surface quality.
Application example
For
a high-power laser beam steering application, Kaleido Technology
manufactured a 300 mm diameter off-axis mirror with a focal length
of 2000 mm. Because of the long focal length, Kaleido's ultra-smooth
free-form turning technology was required.
The plot on the right shows the deviation from the ideal shape in µm measured with Kaleido's proprietary free-form mechanical measurement system.
